Sometimes it’s hard for me to see a difference in my skin when I look at it all the time. Unlike my fitness journey, I don’t take progress pictures of my skin. I started to once I receive multiple compliments from family, friends and all of you about the brightness of my skin and how it was glowing. That’s when I knew that I needed to do a deep dive into my skincare routine. These compliments came after a month of using Good Molecules Niacinamide Brightening Toner.

This was my first time trying out a toner with both Vitamin C and Niacinamide. I was a bit skeptical to try a toner with acids in it as I had tried out a toner previously with acids that damaged my skin barrier. After doing a few patch tests, I decided to give it a go and see what it could do.

What Attracted Me To Use The Good Molecules Toner?

Let’s start with the packaging before we get into the actual product. The attention to detail matters to me. Their packaging is more colourful than any other skincare brand that I have tried. It makes it more inviting and gives off this playful vibe to the brand. The first things that you’ll see on the actual box is a ‘Nothing To Hide’ Ingredients List, the pH level of the toner, whether it can be used in the AM/PM and lastly, their ethics as a brand. There is no legal obligation to disclose the ingredients list of cosmetic and personal products. The fact that Good Molecules does this shows their level of transparency with their consumers. Secondly, their ethics. The product is not tested on animals, it’s paraben-free, sulphate-free, alcohol-free and follows the EU-cosmetic regulations!

What Does The Good Molecules Niacinamide Brightening Toner Contain?

Niacinamide – Niacinamide is a vitamin and popular ingredient used in skincare products. It helps even out the skin and reduces the visibility of large pores. It can help brighten and improve the appearance of dull skin.

Arbutin (a form of Vitamin C) – Arbutin is a form of Vitamin C which is known to visibly brighten up your skin when used correctly. If you suffer from hyperpigmentation, arbutin is the type of ingredient that will help with that.

Liquorice Root Extract – Liquorice root extract is an anti-inflammatory and calming ingredient that can sooth irritated and stressed skin. It can reduce the appearance of dark spots, redness, swelling and protect the skin from environmental stressors.

I believe that the combination of niacinamide and arbutin is what makes the Good Molecules Niacinamide Brightening toner work in terms of brightening your skin. With the addition of the liquorice root extract, it’s a good toner to use in the mornings before your skin is exposed to the environment.

How Do You Use It?

It is one of the first products that I use in my morning skincare routine after I have cleansed my skin. You can apply it on a cotton pad and distributed on your face and neck, don’t forget your neck. I have seen videos of people applying it in their hands first and then using it on their face. I would recommend using the cotton pad to avoid wasting the product.

A little amount goes a long way! The product will feel very light on your skin and the fact that it is fragrance free means that you smell anything after your skin has absorbed it! Once you have toned your skin, you can continue with your morning skincare routine – serum, moisturise and SPF. As this is a toner that contains both niacinamide and vitamin c, don’t forget your SPF.

My Experience With Good Molecules

My experience with the Good Molecules Niacinamide Brightening toner was incredible. I say incredible because I didn’t have any expectations about the product and I had never heard of the brand until they reached out to me. I had an unbiased and first-time approach to their products. My skin transformed during the 2-3 months that I used their brightening toner. I haven’t seen my skin this bright since I was in my early twenties. It is a great product if you have highly sensitive skin and a combo skin type. I’ve just finished the toner and I’ve chosen to order a second bottle for my morning skincare routine.

That’s all ladies! A sensitive skin approved review on the Good Molecules brightening toner. If you are looking for a toner that is going to improve both brightness and clarity on your skin, give it a try and see if works for you. I really do believe that it is the Vitamin C and niacinamide combo that makes this product great.
