The end of the year 2022 is slowly coming to a close. As much as I am happy to ring in the new year, it is impossible to do so without some sort of reflection. There have been a few things that I have loved, re-loved and discovered this year. I want to share the amazing and favourite things with you because I’m sure that you will love them too. This year was my year of boldness. That was the word that I chose in January 2022. I promised myself that I will show up by being bold. In what capacity? I wasn’t entirely sure but I had a few ideas. Being bold showed up in all areas of my life and therefore, I want to share with you a comprehensive list of my favourite things in 2022. Make sure that you bookmark this post for some inspiration.
Productivity Products
My personal development is important to me. To ensure that I have set myself up for success, I like to have a journal planner to keep track of my life goals and to write my to-do list. I’ve been using a planner from Lethally Her for the past two years. One of the reasons why I like this planner is that it has weekly and monthly reflection pages, where I can note down my wins, as well as my improvements. Each page is catered towards making you a better person whether that is through reflection and/or learning something new.
Skincare Products 2022
My favourite skincare product of 2022 has to be the Good Molecules Niacinamide Brightening Toner. I was gifted it as an ad-pr in the summer and really enjoyed the product. As it is currently winter, I only use it as part of my morning routine as I’m trying to maximise hydration during my evening routine with a hydrating toner. It’s definitely sensitive skin approved and I have never seen my skin so bright and glowing since I started using it. Love it when a product does exactly what it is supposed to do. There is a complete review on the product on the blog already.
Health & Wellness Things 2022
When it comes to health & wellness in 2022, I’ve been focusing more on my overall wellness. Lots of resting, putting myself first by travelling and enjoying life. I’m still in the process of creating a solid body wellness routine but one of my favourite things that I have done this year is get my nails done regularly.
I used to have a terrible bad habit that stemmed from my childhood into my 20s. Whenever I felt nervous or anxious about something, I would pick at the skin around my nails. Once I couldn’t reach anymore skin, I would start attacking my nails. For over 10 years, I struggled to overcome this habit. One of my nails stopped growing because of it.
In 2022, I decided that I was going to overcome it by creating a solid nail care routine. I started going to monthly nail appointments using acrygel (BIAB) as my style of choice to help my nails grow. In between my sessions, I would use cuticle oil twice a day. It’s been 9 months since I made that decision and I have never seen my nails so healthy before.
Style Products
Last year, I stumbled on a lot of amazing Black Owned Brands that I managed to wear on my holidays. This year I didn’t buy as much but I discovered some new ones and bought one from one of my favourite brands.
The dress that I am wearing here is from Andrea Iyamah and I would love to buy more of her collection. I love that her clothing is simple yet chic and isn’t loud. Recently, I have learnt that I am more of a quiet luxury person and that’s what I tend to gravitate towards when I buy certain style items.
Also I think I have entered my leather era. I have fallen in love with leather trousers, leather mini skirts, and leather jackets. And about time too! Check out my LTK page for more of my favourite leather items this winter.
Here is a comprehensive list of all of my favourite things in 2022 from Black Owned Brands to nail care, style items to productivity, wellness and powerlifting. I’ve spent more time this year exploring more outside of powerlifting, which has been great. That exploration time has made me miss exploring more within that space which I’ll start to build upon in 2023 as I need some more fitness related things. I highly recommend that you do more discovering outside of your comfort zone. You’ll never know what you’ll find. Let me know your 2022 favourites in the comments below. Until next time,
