Delicious Luxurious Mocktails: 2 Quick & Easy Recipes

You may remember that years ago I used to share recipes of dishes that I tried using new vegetables. This year, I haven’t felt like drinking alcohol at all. I feel that it gets boring really quickly and I want to be able to be present without a blurry mind. As much as I love drinking water, I wanted to add a little razzle dazzle in my glass every once in a while. In short, this is where mocktails come into play.

A couple of years ago, I bought myself a cocktail making set as a gift to push myself to be more creative in the kitchen. A month and a half, I pulled out making mocktails from my solo dates jar and decided to have mocktails night at my place using this cocktail set. In fact, it became a mocktail weekend as I didn’t want it to end! Today I’m sharing two mocktail recipes: one with Blue Curaçao and one with frozen cherries.

Firstly, Blue Curaçao mocktails are refreshing and delicious. They are quick and easy to make as the weather gets warmer. They are perfect for your next outdoor gathering with friends. Secondly, the Cherry Limeade mocktails are simply luxurious once you elevate the experience with frozen cherries. The finish was so, so refreshing that I was lucky to have made a second serving to experience it again. Whether you are having a summer party or need a new recipe to sip on without a drop of alcohol, you’ll love this one.

Making mocktails is an immersive experience

Why Mocktails?

From my perspective, I believe that mocktails have become more popular in the last few years because more people are prioritising their health and wellness. Recently, mocktails offer a way of being inclusive especially for those who choose not to drink alcohol for personal or religious reasons. Before, mocktails did not have the same mixology preparation and passion as cocktails. They were bland. For example, orange juice with sparkling water. Now, there is a wide variety of flavours, ingredients, and garnishes to choose from. It makes experimentation of the flavours and ingredients fun for not only bartenders, but also people who do them at home. I know that I had a lot of fun making them and already have some recipes ready for the holiday season. It is fun and delicious alternative to traditional cocktails that is inclusive in all social settings.

Price of Mocktails

With the rise of mixology preparation, passion and quality ingredients, the prices of mocktails are much higher than what they used to be. A lot of restaurants and bar managers are putting intentionality and care behind crafting new drinks. In the past when mocktails weren’t intentional, the prices would be the same as a glass juice. Now, the prices are slightly similar to a traditional cocktail but lower.

When I was planning for mocktails night at home, it became an immersive experience for me. From researching the type of glasses I would use, to the vibrant ingredients and visually delightful garnishes. It made preparing for the activity more captivating! I feel that they add a little touch of elegance.
